Developmental Therapy Associates (DTA) was established in 1982 as one of a handful of pediatric sensory integration therapy clinics across the US providing occupational and speech therapy services. The growing number of pediatric practices offering therapy services using a sensory integration framework is a testament to the hard work, perseverance and dedication of the leadership and staff, both past and present.
Developmental Therapy Associates is looking for an experienced speech language pathologist for an immediate position offering speech/language therapy services to infants and children in our Durham clinic as well as in the natural environment and school setting.
Responsibilities:
• Develop therapy and treatment plans
• Document and store treatment plans and progress reports in EMR system
• Research related speech and language problems as they arise
• Functions in a self-directed manner and takes ownership to manage self and work including responsibility for actions and accountability for results
• Maintains professional demeanor and is responsible for quality care in all interactions
• Responds promptly to communication (e.g., e-mail, pages and phone messages)
• Uses technology (e.g., computer skills) to meet job requirements
• Maintains productivity standards
• Provides appropriate written and/or verbal education on communication and/or swallowing disorders to patients, families, and professionals
• Completes required documentation accurately and within the designated time frame
• Works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as with Division colleagues to promote best patient care standards
Qualifications:
• Previous experience treating pediatrics
• Ability to build rapport with patients and parents
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Positive and patient demeanor
