This two day Seminar is designed for the SLP, SLP graduate student, Physician, Physician Assistant, Social Workers, Nurses, Nurse Practioniers, Vocational and Occupational Rehabilitation Counselors, as well as other health care professional who are responsible for the rehabilitation of the laryngectomized patient. This seminar will also focus on treatment modalities and the management of day-to-day rehabilitative needs for patients and their families. The seminar will also offer the SLP, SLP graduate student, and other medical providers the opportunity to participate in a hands-on clinic designed to facilitate the skills required for management of the laryngectomized patient and their new voice. The instructional format will also consist of lecture, discussions, question and answer panels and audience participation demonstrations. The level of information ranges from basic to intermediate. The Affect-Based Language Curriculum(ABLC) An Intensive Program for Families, Therapists and Teachers

The ABLC is a curriculum that provides a semi-structured developmentally proven tool to teach play, communication, language and speech skills to children on the autism spectrum. It provides a departure from the more traditional behaviorally-based program. This program is appropriate for children whose skills are between birth and 48 months.
This course will be supported by the use of lecture, DVD's as well as a case study practicum to teach the constructs needed to implement the ABLC. Topics of discussion will include: theoretical framework, core capacities, developmental levels, the "model"(Checklists, Systematic Instruction, Applied Floortime), peer interaction, as well as the supplemental skills(sensory preparation, oral-motor, and augmentative communication).

This event will bring healthcare professionals together with members of the transgender community to discuss transgender voice and communication issues and broader health and wellness issues in the unique context of the transgender community.
· Participants will include members of the transgender community, speech-language pathologists, psychologists and psychiatrists, physicians, and others, including university faculty and graduate students with an interest in transgender issues.
· Transgender individuals will have the opportunity to speak directly to healthcare professionals about their experiences and needs.
· The goal of the symposium is to expand the availability of professionals who are competent in transgender issues and to increase the presence of trusted and sound resources in the areas of voice and communication locally and nationally.
· The focus will be interdisciplinary, reflecting the diversity of issues encountered by transgender individuals and the clinicians working with them.
· Attendees will have the opportunity to hear nationally known scholars speak about gender-related issues; hear panels of healthcare professionals and transgender individuals discuss selected topics; and participate in break-out groups focusing on feminine voice, spoken language, nonverbal communication, and other topics.
· The Adam Foundation’s support will contribute to the registration fee for 14 members of the local transgender community.

Every year, the National Stuttering Association hosts an annual conference which brings together children, teens, and adults who stutter, as well as families. For four days, our conference presents special workshops and seminars which forever change a person's outlook on stuttering.
